Domehead and C-Ball were walking to 'the spot' on Tuesday and this baby bird fell from its nest in the roof, above. Heartless core member C-Ball did not catch it. It hit the ground with a pathetic thud and lay unconscious. Fellow members of the core decided its fate was sealed and left for lunch.

3 Hours later Domehead and I revisit 'the spot' to find the bird barely alive, but alive non the less. After several minutes of battling whether to kill it (ie. stone it to death) or let it sit and be devoured by some hungry carnivore, the time had come to chose.

Since we were at work and right behind a building, we decided stoning it would probably not look so good, and we were convinced its neck was broken, and not long for this world...'Twas heart breaking to say the least, but we left it for nature...I mean birds fall out of trees everyday right?

Some of my associates decided to settle a dispute by duking it out in Ben's backyard. I've seen Peter Jennings do exposees about this backyard fighting shit but never attended or really even heard of it actually happening in my social sphere. I guess its real. Max drove out there and we basically just stayed for the fight, which was fun and interesting but definitely left with a sinking, empty, guilty, sadness afterwards. I guess I just felt bad... I also don't really think this is a good idea nor do I feel like encouraging my friends to beat each other up. That being said, I did put $20 on Robyn, who TCB'd so hard and made quick work of Dave. Dave def looked bigger and taller but I know that Robyn has that edge... the drive. He's definitely not soft. So I ended up profiting from this whole event. a bit ridiculous but 20 clams is 20 clams.

Duck Village!!!!!

My friend Frank (aka BikeMan) lives at a historical site outside of inman square. It used to be a popular speak easy in the days of prohibition. Apparently, the city wouldn't give Frank a plaque noting the historical significance of the spot. Frank decided to turn the site into Duck Village. He has a DOPE set up there with tons of ducks and ornaments as well as a fucking cool topiary garden. He's also a cool dude and is nice about people scoping out duck village and the accompanying Kirk dog park (Kirk is Frank's dog...it's his park) and the meditation corner that Frank made upon the request of one of his Chinese tenants.

So this was pretty ridiculous, an expo center in Manchester New Hampshire, filled to the brim with amphibian sales people. A lot of them. The awful part was how small the storage containers were, the second awful part was that any stupid asshole or child, could pretty much handle any animal they wanted, something seemed terrible to me about that. The other crazy part was that these lizards and geckos and chameleons were incredibly cheap, I mean like...20 dollars for some amazing, amazing geckos. 4 dollars for some types of exotic frogs!?! I'm not huuuge on the exotic pet trade but I totally want a snake.

All in all it was a mind fuck and a half, but a fun one! lets go next year all dressed up, because i would go again, but i felt like the freak not having a costume...this is BOSTON ANIME.

So Norman and your man Domehead went to PAX East, which was AWESOME! I played a really cool Street Fighter board game and a cool story/painting version of Apples-to-Apples, as well as a bunch of dope video games including Diner Dash (the new one), Red Dead Redemption (might actually be the best video game ever created) and some 3D fps's.

-Fuck guitar hero! it doesn't make you a musician... but this might...
These fucking awesome dudes made this mod for a REAL guitar to play a guitarhero-like game that uses real notation and actually teaches you to play along with songs. They were selling the kit for like 35 bucks but also were encouraging people to just check out the plans for the mod online and build it yourself!

Also, this table-top street fighter inspired dice game, SUPER GACHAPON FIGHTERS OMEGA INFINITY is really good! The guy who made it was way cool and it was a blast to play.

Norman and I OBV took a bunch of pics with dressed-up people... though they thought I was dressed up also. This one dude asked me if I was dressed as Nico from GTA IV.

PAX East was a BLAST! although I was quite dazed from staying up until 8 the night/morning before at some weird party where i made the horrible faux pas of saying "awww....who's dog?" in a dimly lit room... it turns out it was not a dog but a girl... like a human girl. WOOPS! I will definitely be going to the next PAX East!

For years I've heard people discussing their favorite song, food or book. I had trouble understanding this concept. These people seemed to have experienced love at first sight, such an undeniable and profound love for one object, person or concept that they felt comfortable...even proud, allowing it to define them in some way; A favorite. Never having had such a moment of epiphany I rued my pessimism. Was I jaded? Do I have a bad attitude because I feel I can't unconditionally refer to something as "my favorite"??? Well times have changed and on this, the mid-hour of a terrible, horrible day, I feel humbled by the fact that I can warmly say, "I have a favorite youtube video...of the week." (although its quite a bit older that that)

Yo! so... I got Norman and I tix to the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) and I am totally fucking psyched! we will be bringing our Inman Square and Boston Risk maps. I walked over to 'the games people play' to whet myself and stumbled upon this board game...

I've had one or possibly more acid trips, quite a while ago, during which the concept of genetically engineered dragon-trains seemed like a great idea. I bet the creator of this game bit that shit off the 17 year old me via the fucking collective consciousness.
